ASILE CONFERENCE 2016

Presenter

Ariani Selviana
ASILE conference presentation:
Workshop

Mastery of Indonesian language for Foreigners (BIPA) Using Creative-based Teaching Media BIPA Dahsyat: Word-play arrangements (SUKA)

Abstract
Playing and using language are two of the most basic human nature, ontologically, epistemologically as well as ethically. Information era opens up some creative linguistic uses, not always the formal mandatory style, but also playful styles. The rapid progress of Information and Communication technology further creates the birth and growth of digital games, which in turn transform both the kind and the method for children and youth of today to identify themselves with games. Instead of distracting and keeping BIPA students at distant with reality, the use of play method, traditional and digital alike, which explore students skill and mastery of language, as long as being oriented towards clear and noble values framework, will definitely develop their positive characters as passionate learners of Indonesian language, such as deeper involvement inside the play, nice and pleasant personality, collaborative learners, ready to deal with ambiguity and surprises, and also prepared to be amused and immersed in seriousness and frivolity. These goals are facilitated by playing SUKA.
