Balai Bahasa Indonesia (BBI) ACT - Prize
Best Session Paper and Best Workshop Presentation
During ASILE Conference 2016 the Balai Bahasa Indonesia (ACT) is offering a certificate and cash prizes of $500 to be awarded for:
i) the best paper presentation
and
(ii) the best workshop presentation at the ASILE 2016 conference.

Eligibility
- All papers and workshop presentations at the ASILE conference will automatically be considered for the Prize. Each paper/workshop must be formally registered/submitted before the commencement of the conference in accordance with conference procedures, and must appear in the conference program. All nationalities are eligible for the Prize. Plenary session presenters are also eligible, except for guest speakers or specially invited keynote speakers.
- Where a winning paper or workshop is presented by two or more authors or presenters, the Prize will be awarded jointly.
- The paper or workshop may be in English or Indonesian (or both). The choice of language will not be a factor in assessing the merits of the paper/workshop, though the quality of language use may be a factor.
- Each paper/workshop must be available in some form that can be consulted by the jury before or after the session/workshop concerned, e.g. the text or draft of a written paper, a PowerPoint presentation, poster(s), artefacts, and notes (though these will not be the only basis of assessment).
Criteria and mode of assessment
- The Prize will be award to the best paper and workshop based on
- originality (including original use of illustrative aids etc.)
- relevance to the conference goals and themes
- success in capturing audience interest
- clarity of presentation and language style
- The paper or workshop may be accompanied by any props, aids, illustrations or media instruments.
- The determination of the best paper and workshop will be made by
- a jury appointed by the BBI (ACT) and the directors of the ASILE conference.
- results of an online questionnaire available below on the ASILE conference website and submitted electronically by formally registered ASILE participants.
- There will be a cash prize of $500 (Australian currency) for recipients of the Prize in each of the two categories.
- The awardees will receive a Prize Certificate.
- The Prize will be announced at the closing ceremony of the ASILE conference and presented to the recipient, if possible.
- The winners of the Prize will be announced and publicised in a media release and in the online media of the BBI (ACT) and ASILE.
- The jury’s decision will be final and no correspondence or appeal process will be considered.
